I find it a cute idea to prepare a tasty bread wreath to put as a centerpiece at Christmas, so when I saw the recipe to prepare this bread wreath with walnuts, pecorino and bacon at the test of the cook broadcast, I decided to replicate it so as to do some 'tests to then choose what to bring to the table in these days of celebration that are about to come. Method

How to make the bread wreath

Put the flour in a bowl, make a hole in the center and put the yeast, water and sugar.

Start kneading by gradually absorbing the flour.

Then add the oil and salt.

Knead until you get a soft and elastic dough.

Leave the dough to rise in a warm place, away from currents, for about 2 hours.

Divide the dough into two parts.

Roll out into two thin rectangles.

Spread the pecorino, diced pancetta and chopped walnuts on the surface.

Now roll up tightly starting from the longest part.

Divide each roll into 6 parts.

Cut each rectangle of dough into slices and shape it trying to get small oval rolls.

Arrange these sandwiches around a buttered round mold to obtain the shape of the garland.

Let it rise for another 30 minutes, then brush the surface with beaten egg.

Bake the bread wreath in the oven at 180 ° C for about 20 minutes.

Then let it cool, gently remove the mold, place on a serving dish, decorate as you like and serve.
